The various shopfronts across the Back Lot development required significant further design work and refinement before they were ready for fabrication. To ensure every detail was captured accurately, individual SketchUP models were created for each unit, covering elements such as preferred profiles, ironmongery, glazing types, and overall proportions. These models were then imported into Layout and formatted into clear drawing packages for review and construction.
A series of detailed sheets were produced to capture key construction information, including moulding profiles, cable access points, and general joinery build‑ups. These drawings ensured that all fabrication requirements were clearly communicated to the workshop and installation teams.

The main feature of Union Street on the Back Lot was the original Victorian corner shop, designed to echo a range of existing structures found across the East End of London while remaining deliberately understated and anonymous. This allowed it to blend seamlessly into the wider streetscape and support a variety of story needs.
