The drawings above depict an 1800s naval vessel, with the cabin designed to echo the craftsmanship of the great ships of the period. This interpretation is to reflect the HMS Surprise, for a modern interpretation of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
The model was built at a large scale, with all mouldings and timber details crafted from real wood and then stained or painted to replicate the finish of 1800s naval vessels. Functioning doors and integrated lighting were added for each credit.
