A 3D model created in Google SketchUp was developed to establish the final size and scale for Project Dark Eyes.
This project involved recreating the sonic screwdriver used by the 8th Doctor within the Big Finish universe. The original prop was designed and built by Weta Workshop, and I was commissioned to produce three replicas. To determine the dimensions and overall cost, this SketchUp model was produced. The various colours represent different materials required for the final builds.
It proved invaluable throughout the process and became the backbone of the physical prop’s development.
