As part of the BBC Worldwide Showcase event, the 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, was set to make his first public appearance in his debut costume.
I was brought on to help create a magic trick in which the Doctor appeared out of thin air inside the TARDIS. Working alongside Movievents and the BBC Worldwide team, I supported the construction department as a CAD draughtsman, producing accurate SketchUp models and technical drawings to guide the build.
These models were used to assist in the manufacture of the TARDIS frame and surrounding elements, ensuring the illusion could be performed safely and convincingly within the Echo Arena.
